This etching is plate 10 from Chagall's illustrated book, "Fables de La Fontaine," which depicted 17th Century French poet Jean de la Fontaine's classic "Fables." This image comes from the fable "The Child and the Schoolmaster," in which a child is rescued by a schoolmaster, but not before being admonished for his carelessness.

This print comes in mat as shown.
