Emilio Vedova

(Italian, 1919 – 2006)
Emilio Vedova was an Italian artist known for his contributions to Expressionism and Arte Informale. Born in 1919 in Venice, Italy, he spent much of his life in his hometown of Venice, Italy. Vedova was recognized with several prestigious awards, including the prize for young painters, the Guggenheim International award, and the Grand Prize for painting. He was associated with notable peers such as Renato Guttuso, Renato Birolli, Afro, Birolli, Corpora, Santomaso, Morlotti, Moreni, and Turcato. His works are part of the collections at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, and Museum Morsbroich. Vedova passed away in 2006.
