Pietro Consagra was an Italian sculptor known for his work with metal, marble, and wood. He was a prominent figure in the art movements Forma 1 and Continuità. Born in 1920 in Mazara del Vallo, Trapani, Italy, he studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Palermo and the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma. His work was influenced by Renato Guttuso. Consagra was awarded the sculpture prize at the Venice Biennale. He was associated with notable peers such as Carla Accardi, Ugo Attardi, Piero Dorazio, Mino Guerrini, Achille Perilli, Antonio Sanfilippo, and Giulio Turcato. The artist passed away in 2005.
