Marcus Brutus, born in 1991 in the United States, is an American artist recognized for his vibrant portrayals of Black life that address themes of identity, community, and cultural history. He studied at St. John’s University in New York City. His works have been exhibited at venues including Harper’s Books. Relevant contemporaries include Derrick Adams and Kehinde Wiley, who likewise explore facets of Black experience in contemporary art. Brutus continues to live and work in the United States.
