Goldscheider (Co.), also known as the Goldscheider Manufactory and Majolica Factory, was founded in Vienna in 1885. An Austrian producer of figural sculptures, it was established by Friedrich Goldscheider and would achieve widespread influence in the realms of terra cotta, faience, and bronze. Goldscheider's early works were crafted in the style of historical revivalism, with subjects ranging from Classical mythology and early European folklore, with its aesthetic gradually shifting toward the increasingly fashionable styles of Art Nouveau and Art Deco in the early 20th century.
