Georges Manzana-Pissarro

Georges Manzana-Pissarro was French Post-Impressionist painter known for his depictions of the countryside. Born in 1871 in Louveciennes, France, he was the son of the famed Impressionist Camille Pissarro. He grew up painting alongside both his father and brother Lucien Pissarro, surrounded by his father’s friends Claude Monet, Paul Cézanne, and Pierre-Auguste Renoir. Manzana-Pissarro signed works Manzana until the death of his father, when as a sign of respect he included his last name Pissarro. Later in his career, he produced a number of decorative objects and adopted some of the exotic subject matter of Paul Gauguin in his paintings. The artist died in 1961 in Menton, France.
