Delphin Enjolras

Delphin Enjolras was a French painter. Enjolras' most prominent body of work consists almost exclusively of eroticized women rendered in the French academic style, often nude or in various stages of undress and created in various media such as oils, pastels, and watercolors. Among his other works are scenes of domestic interiors, usually illuminated by a single lamp with warm, orange light. Born in 1857 in Coucouron, France, he went on to study under popular contemporary French painters of the day, such as Gaston Gerard, Jean-Léon Gérôme, and Pascal Dagnan-Bouveret.
