David Shepherd is a British wildlife painter. He creates detailed, realistic depictions of endangered wildlife such as tigers, elephants, and rhinoceros, captured mid-movement in their natural habitat. Shepherd notably dedicates some of his profits to the conservation of wildlife and their habitats, thereby helping protect the animals he intimately paints. Born on April 25, 1931 in London, United Kingdom, he studied with the British painter Robin Goodwin before making commissioned works depicting aircraft for the Royal Air Force.
