Christopher Richard Wynne Nevinson was a British artist known for his painting, etching, and lithography. His work often depicted war and landscapes and was influenced by Futurism, Cubism, and Vorticism. Born in 1889 in Hampstead, England, he spent much of his life in Hampstead, England. Nevinson studied at the Slade School of Art, University College London, and the Academie Julian, Paris. His notable peers included Stanley Spencer, Mark Gertler, Paul Nash, Maxwell Gordon Lightfoot, Adrian Allinson, and Dora Carrington, while he was influenced by Augustus John, Marinetti, and Wyndham Lewis.
