Conrad Marca-Relli

Conrad Marca-Relli was an American artist known for his work in collage. His art often explored cityscapes, still lifes, circus themes, and architectural motifs. He was a part of the New York School Abstract Expressionism movement. Born in 1913 in Boston, he was influenced by Giorgio de Chirico. He studied at the Cooper Union in New York City. Marca-Relli was associated with notable peers such as Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning, Franz Kline, Robert Motherwell, and John Ferren. He passed away in 2000 in Parma, Italy. Marca-Relli was awarded the Logan Medal of the Arts. His works are part of the collection at the Whitney Museum of American Art.
