Walter Launt Palmer was an American artist known for his winter landscape scenes and his contributions to Impressionism. Born in 1854, he lived in Albany. Palmer was influenced by Frederic Edwin Church and Carolus-Duran and was associated with notable peers such as John Singer Sargent, William Hart, James Hart, Homer Dodge Martin, and Edward Gay. Throughout his career, he received numerous accolades including the Second Hallgarten Prize, the First Prize at the Columbian World Fair, the Gold Medal at the Philadelphia Art Club, the Gold Medal at the Boston Art Club, the W.T.
