Richard Edward Miller was an American artist known for his paintings that often depicted women posing languidly in interiors or outdoor settings. He was a part of the American Impressionism movement. Born in 1875 in St. Louis, Missouri, he studied at the Washington University in St. Louis School of Fine Arts. His work was influenced by Jean-Paul Laurens and Benjamin Constant. He was also associated with notable peers such as Frederick Frieseke and Guy Rose. Miller lived in Provincetown, Massachusetts. He was awarded the Legion of Honor. His works are exhibited at the Pasadena Museum of History. He passed away in 1943.
