William S. Burroughs, also known as William Seward Burroughs II, was an influential American figure associated with the Beat Generation and postmodernism. His visual art has been exhibited at institutions such as the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA), Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, and Museum of Contemporary Art. Burroughs was born in 1914 in St. Louis, Missouri, United States and passed away in 1997 in Lawrence, Kansas, United States. He lived in Lawrence, Kansas, United States and was educated at Harvard University, Cambridge, and medical school in Vienna. Among his peers were Allen Ginsberg and Jack Kerouac.
