Jaroslav Rössler

Jaroslav Rössler was a Czech artist born in 1902 in Smilov. He was a prominent figure in the Czech avant-garde movement, known for his work in photogram, photomontage, collage, and drawing. His subject matter often delved into abstract photography and avant-garde themes. Rössler was educated in the atelier of the company owned by renowned Czech photographer František Drtikol, where he was influenced by František Drtikol and Karel Teige. He was associated with notable peers such as František Drtikol, Josef Sudek, and Jaromír Funke. Rössler passed away in 1990 in Prague, and had lived in Prague-Žižkov.
