Carlo Carrà

(Italian, 1881 – 1966)
Carlo Carrà was an Italian artist known for his contributions to Futurism and Metaphysical painting. His work often explored futurism and metaphysical painting. Born in 1881 in Quargnento, Piedmont, Italy, he studied at the Brera Academy in Milan. Carrà was influenced by Henri Rousseau, Giorgio de Chirico, and Giotto. He was also associated with notable peers such as Umberto Boccioni, Luigi Russolo, and Giacomo Balla. Carrà spent much of his life in Milan, Italy. He passed away in 1966 in Milan, Italy. His works are part of the collections at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, and the Hamburger Bahnhof - Museum für Gegenwart.
