Augusto Giacometti

(Swiss, 1877 – 1947)
Augusto Giacometti was a Swiss artist known for his work in stained glass. He explored themes of holy arts and floral subjects and was associated with Art Nouveau and Symbolism. Born in 1877 in Stampa, Graubünden, Switzerland, he was influenced by Eugène Grasset. He studied at the Zurich University of the Arts in Zurich. Giacometti lived in Zurich, Switzerland. He was contemporaries with Tristan Tzara, Marcel Janco, Sophie Taeuber-Arp, and Hugo Ball. The artist passed away in 1947. His works are exhibited in the Museum of Fine Arts Bern.
