Alberto Magnelli

(Italian, 1888 – 1971)
Alberto Magnelli was an Italian artist known for his contributions to Concrete art, Fauvism, Cubism, and Futurism. Born in 1888 in Florence, Italy, he later moved to Paris, France. Magnelli was influenced by Guillaume Apollinaire, Pablo Picasso, Fernand Léger, and Alexander Archipenko. He was associated with notable peers such as Ardengo Soffici, Gino Severini, Wassily Kandinsky, Jean Arp, and Sophie Taeuber. Magnelli passed away in 1971 in Meudon, Paris, France. He was awarded the second prize at the São Paulo Biennial. His works are exhibited in the Museum of Modern Art, Paris.
