Edmund Blair Leighton was a British artist known for his work with oil on canvas. His subject matter often included historical genre scenes, regency, and medieval subjects, and his style was influenced by the pre-Raphaelite movement. He was educated at the University College School, and the Heatherley School of Fine Art in Newman Street, London. Born in 1853, he passed away in 1922.
