Lena Cronqvist

Lena Cronqvist, also known as Lena Birgitta Cronqvist Tunström, is a Swedish artist associated with Expressionism. Her work, which includes painting, graphic art, and sculpture, often features self-portraits, hospital scenes, Madonnas, and girls playing morbid games. Influenced by Edvard Munch, her art captures deep emotional and psychological dimensions. Born in 1938 in Karlstad, Sweden, she also resides in Karlstad, Sweden. She studied at the Konstfack and the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts, both in Stockholm. Her work has been exhibited at the Nationalmuseet and the Moderna Museet in Stockholm, and she has been honored with the Prince Eugen Medal.
