Jonathan Lyndon Chase is an American artist known for his paintings that explore queer black bodies in mundane, everyday spaces. Born in 1989 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States, he continues to live and work in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. Chase studied at the University of the Arts, Philadelphia, and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Philadelphia. His work is influenced by artists such as Romare Bearden, Alison Saar, Marlon Riggs, Robert Colescott, Alice Neel, and Kerry James Marshall. He shares the art scene with notable peers like Louis Fratino, Nicole Eisenman, and Carroll Dunham. His works are exhibited in the National Gallery of Art.
