Prunella Clough
(British, 1919 – 1999)
Prunella Clough was a British artist known for her painting, prints, and assemblages that often depicted urban and industrial landscapes, coastal landscapes, still lifes, and abstract works. She was associated with the Neo-Romantic movement and had notable peers such as John Minton and Michael Ayrton. Influenced by Henry Moore, John Berger, Ghisha Koenig, and David Carr, she studied at the Chelsea School of Art, London. Clough was born in 1919 in Chelsea, London and passed away in 1999. Her work has been exhibited at institutions such as the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston (CAMH), Hove Museum & Art Gallery, and Trondheim Art Museum - TKM Bispegata / TKM Gråmølna. She was the recipient of the Jerwood Prize for painting and the City of London...
