Lot Details

Chinese Contemporary artist and respected critic, Zhu Yuze (b. 1970) here paints an abstracted landscape that is ultimately self-referential in essence. The physicality of the painting's wet-on-wet technique and organic interactions of color all portray provocative emotions, freeing the controlled quality of traditional ink painting and creating a more unbridled natural dance upon the surface of the paper. This work is in excellent condition, measuring 27.16 x 53.54 inches (69 x 136 cm) with mounted dimensions measuring 35.43 x 53.54 inches (90 x 160 cm).

Zhu Yuze was born in 1962 in Beijing and received his degrees from Central Institute of Fine Art in 1981 and the University of Tokyo art department in 1986, and studied Art Theory of Fine Art History in Dusseldorf Academy of Art in Germany. The artist has also won several awards like the International Art Golden Prize in the 10th World Art Fair and the Golden Cup in the National Calligraphy and Painting Contest. He has held major exhibitions world wide including the Asian Art Biennial at the Japan Museum, Zhuhai Museum the Sino-Korea International Art Exhibition, the China Calligraphy and the Painting Art Beijing Invitation Exhibition, as well as hosting several solo exhibitions throughout China and abroad.
