Lot Details

A stunning nude young woman kneels to the ground in an empty room, her nudity partially concealed by her pose as well as the perspective she is painted from. Wearing hardly any clothing except for lingerie and black high-heels, she inhabits an unknown mysterious space, empty of people and objects, except for a telephone that hangs on the wall above her. This large-scale oil painting is by Chinese Contemporary Realist painter, Zhang Haiying (China, b. 1972), and belongs to his world-renowned "Anti-Vice Raid Campaign Series" of large-scale figurative oil paintings which the artist began in earnest in 2008.
