Lot Details

"Untitled (from the Anti-Vice Raid Series)" (2012) is a seductive large-scale figurative oil painting by internationally acclaimed Chinese Contemporary artist, Zhang Haiying (China, b. 1972). Zhang keeps the identity of this woman to himself, heightening the sense of fantasy and voyeurism and accentuates the stunning physique and porcelain skin of the nude woman. His famous broad and gestural brush-strokes indicate sudden physical movement, intentionally imitating a color photograph with a bright flash going off, and are balanced by Zhang's select and delicate attention to detail. This work is unframed measuring 78.75 x 62.99 inches (200 x 160 cm), and is in excellent condition. This work can be shipped on stretchers or rolled professionally, as the winning bidder prefers.

This work belongs to Zhang's famed "Anti Vice Raid Campaign" Series of figurative paintings of beautiful Chinese women that addresses the Chinese government's agenda to eradicate prostitution and strip clubs throughout all major cities in China.
