This work belongs to the artist's iconic "Anti-Vice Raid Campaign Series" paintings of beautiful, anonymous Chinese women who are typically strippers or prostitutes who are the subject of police raids. His source material for these paintings are actual police raid photographs. The artist is famous for his use of deft, broad sweeping brush-strokes balanced by delicate attention to details, as well as the contrast of areas of bright color with tones of black and white photograph.
