Zarina Hashmi, known professionally as 'Zarina' is arguably the most famous Indian artist of her generation. "The Golden Route" is a rare etching created by Zarina using gold ink to produce her famous minimalist style aesthetic. This is only the second etching to come to auction using gold ink ever by Zarina, the other is presently live for bidding on artnet Auctions as well.

The artist's minimalist works on paper were an important part of Indian's first Pavilion in 2011 at the Venice Biennale and Zarina is represented by the prestigious Luhring Augustine Gallery, where she had her last solo exhibition in 2009. Her work is in the collections of the top Museums and Collections world-wide.
