Lot Details

This a rare and important early etching with aquatint in six colors from 1976 by famed Chinese artist Zao Wou-Ki (1921-2013), and is one of his most colorful and celebratory prints known. Dimensions: 26.37 x 22.04 inches/(67 x 56 cm). Unframed and in excellent condition, and is a formal AP print from an edition of 95 + 10 AP. Zao's blue-based prints and painting are his most sought-afte, as Zao revered blue above all others, a color he often wrote about often but used sparingly to refer to water in his iconic 'abstracted landscapes'. Presently held in a private collection, Europe, and is accompanied by documentation of provenance and authenticity.
