Lot Details

Contemporary Chinese artist Yin Da (China b. 1962) continues to gain international acclaim for his internationally exhibited "Reflect of Beijing" Series in which Yin portrays the towns and cities he has visited and records the people of each region in an exciting and singular manner. "Reflection" (2007)is a sensual example of the mysterious and seductive tenor that Yin imbues in his narratives, with just a cropped glimpse of the face of an anonymous woman gazing back at the viewer in her reaer-rear mirror. Unable to see her entire face and painted in a dream-like, hazy manner, the artist leaves it open for the viewer to create possible emotions, stories and narratives of each subject, the heightening the connection between the painting and the viewer. "Reflection" measures 48.00 x 53.55 inches (122 x 136 cm) and is in excellent condition.

Yin Da was born in 1962 from Yiili, Xinjiang Provence, China and received his degree from North Western Minorities University. The artist has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions throughout China, including the 2007 Art Beijing:Chinese and Korean Contemporary Art Exchange Exhibition, Red T Gallery, the Songzhuang Chinese Contemporary Art, and the 2003 Hundred Chinese Contemporary Artists Exhibition in Beijing. The artist currently lives and works in Beijing.
