Lot Details

Easily mistaken for a color photograph, "Stop Tipsy Here no. 2" (2012) is a stunning realist oil painting by rising star, Chinese Contemporary artist Yang Peng, that features a beautiful young woman in profile in the act of delicately blowing white feathers from her open palm up into the air. Adding a surreal touch to the narrative, an anonymous pair of hands reach into the scene from behind this young woman to gently cover her eyes. This dialectic of dynamism versus tranquility, reality versus fantasy is inherent to Yang's oeuvre. This work is unframed, measures 43.30 x 51.18 inches (110 x 130 cm), and is in excellent condition.
