Lot Details

Chinese Contemporary painter Yang Peng (China b, 1984) is internationally acclaimed for his visually compelling realist paintings with surreal narratives."Life" (2012) depicts a man's head being drawn backward by a plethora of anonymous hands. This work is unframed, measures 78.74 x 63 inches (200 x 160 cm) and is in excellent condition. As with most of his works, this powerful visual metaphor represents the censorship in China against the alternative lifestyle, artwork and culture that many of the younger generations living there today wish to pursue.
