"Pleasure of Music" (2006) is a tour-de-force oil painting by renowned Contemporary Chinese artist Yang Gao (China, B. 1963). This sublime work belong to his critically acclaimed "Today is What Year" Series of figurative oil paintings, that all employ a visual style unique to Yang in which he conflates Contemporary Realism with a more traditional Chinese figurative style. Time is suspended in "Pleasure of Music" underscoring that music is an eternal human passion, one that connects all generations and cultures to one another in a celebratory way and comes to this sale directly from a top private US collection, acquired by the present owners directly from the elite Schoeni Art Gallery Int'l, Hong Kong in 2007, the gallery which formally represents the artist in Asia.

This painting measures 51.25 x 38.25 is professionally framed to larger dimensions of 56 x 43 inches in a matte-silver floating frame and is in excellent condition. Born in Inner Mongolia in 1963, Yang graduated from Harbin Architectural University in 1984, became a professional painter living in Guangdong, Beijing. The artist lives and works in Australia.
