Yang Fudong is a contemporary Chinese filmmaker and photographer, best known for his film "Seven Intellectuals in a Bamboo Forest." He began his career in film in the 1990s, after studying painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Hangzhou. His work has been shown in Documenta XI, the Shanghai Biennale , the Carnegie International, and the Asia Pacific Triennial. His work was recently featured in a solo exhibition at Marian Goodman Gallery, New York in 2012. He currently lives and works in Shanghai, China.
