Contemporary artist Wolf Kahn (B. 1927, Stuttgart, Germany) is known for creating lyrically beautiful landscapes in pastels, paint, and watercolor. Kahn trained with Hans Hofmann during the late forties and is considered one of the foremost landscape artists of his time. His vividly colored art pushes the boundaries between traditional landscape paintings and abstract color field works. Kahn has received numerous awards over the course of his career including a Fulbright Scholarship, a John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship, and a American Academy of Arts and Letters award, among others. His work is in major museums worldwide, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Los Angeles County Museum, in Los Angeles, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
