Created in a radiology clinic by painting his subjects with small amounts of barium, “Pig Lick” is part of large series of x-rays depicting explicit sexual acts.

Wim Delvoye (b. 1965) is a Belgian neo-conceptual and installation artist best known for his controversial work that is centered on the body and bodily functions. One of his most famous works, an installation entitled “Cloaca,” turns food into feces which he collects and sells. His work has appeared in numerous solo exhibitions, including the New Museum of Contemporary Art, New York, NY; Musée d’Art Contemporain, Lyon, France; Musee Rodin, Paris, France; Palais des Beaux-Arts: Centre for Fine Arts, Brussels, Belgium; and Musée du Louvre, Paris, France. Delvoye lives and works in Gand, Belgium and New York.
