"Seated Buddha, Poperomia Series" (2013). Unique. Ed 1/1.
Dimensions: 43.30 x 12 x 12 inches (110 x 30 x 30 cm). Condition excellent.

This is a tour-de force ceramic, gold leaf and colored wool yarn sculpture in the round by internationally acclaimed South-East Asian artist Wasinburee Supanichvoraparch. This year, the artist is one of two representing Thailand at the Thai Pavilion of The 55th Venice Biennale, Italy, with several seated Buddha works included in his installation which is titled "Popermoia" (please see images). Here the artist references both the famous gold and colorful burial goods of King Tut as well as the meditative gilt sculptures of Buddha in a singular and celebratory manner. This work will ship from Thailand, directly from the Studio of the Artist.
