"Poperomia" (2012) is a stunning, tour-de force ceramic, gold leaf and colored wool yarn sculpture by one of the most exciting South-East Asian artists working today, Wasinburee Supanichvoraparch. Here the artist references both the famous gold and colorful coffin of King Tut as well as the gilt sculptures of Buddha in a singular and celebratory manner. This year, the artist is representing Thailand at the Thai Pavilion of The 55th Venice Biennale, Italy. This unqiue sculpture is presently on exhibition there and is the title image at the Pavilion. This work is unique and in excellent condition and measures 17.72 x 53.15 x 13.98 inches (45 x 135 x 35 cm).
