Lot Details

Drawing on influences of Pop art and Abstract Expressionism, Walasse Ting (Chinese-American, 1929-2010) gained a popular following for his vivid, colorful paintings that fluctuated between abstraction and pop figuration. Completed in 1972, “Little Rain” reflects Ting’s dripping brushstroke technique, which emanates from two bold areas of vibrant blue to create a poetic and sensory abstraction of bright fresh color.
