A triumvirate of women artists, each one different in her own discipline and experimenting in the new media of silkscreen printmaking. The full spectrum of what silkscreen can achieve is fully explored and presented in these prints - from the photo reproduction screens found in the Nevelson print (these are black and white images from her sculpture, hand-cut and collaged onto blue backing paper) - to the bright, solid color passages in Frankenthaler’s work in which the artist explores her abstract shapes and pushes them off each edge of the paper. Expressive drawing in several runs of color were drawn onto multiple screens by DeKooning. Her composition an abstracted line drawing of two bulls in contest, a whirlwind image of motion.
