The artist is known for his colorful and specific manner of painting, in a style that belies an interest in outside art as well as Western styles of painting. Tran Trong Vu was born in Hanoi, Vietnam in 1964. From 1982-1987 he studies painting at Fine Arts College of Hanoi and from 1987-1989 he was a professor at Fine Arts College of Hanoi, with a prestigious invitation to as an artist in residence from 1989-1992 at National Fine Arts College of Paris, France, and in 2000 was a guest professor of Fine Arts College of Reims, France.
