Tom Wesselmann was one of the foremost Pop artists of the twentieth century. He is best known for his depictions of sensual woman reduced to large pools of color. Wesselmann's later work, as seen here, is more gestural. Many of these later prints were even given the title "Fast Sketch." Several of Wesselmann's nudes nod towards the work of Impressionists like Manet and Matisse. Here, a cartoonish sketched figure of a blond woman wearing a pair of blue stockings reclines with her face turned away from the viewer. A bouquet of deep orange flowers in a blue vase sits on a table beside her. This print is in excellent condition.
