"One Hundred Children Playing" (2008) is a tour-de-force painting by Contemporary Korean female artist, SoHyun Bae. Dimensions: 78.74 x 94.48 inches (200 x 240 cm), unframed, excellent condition. As if from a fairy-tale, this large-scale painting depicts the shadows of 'one hundred' children, who play and frolic as if cherubs about larger than life, lush pink 'immortal peaches', one of ten immortal plants and animals in traditional Korean culture, that represent, happiness and longevity.
SoHyun Bae has been greatly recognized for her concepts and methods receiving such awards as the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, Inc Grant, The National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, The Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture Fellowship and the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship in Fine Art, among many others.
