Lot Details

Created in 1996, 'Black on Black' is one of Shepard Fairey's most striking explorations of Andre the Giant. The print's stark simplicity and elegance belie its complexity. The print is strikingly stylish with its two tones of black, contrasting deep red and white, and provoking composition. Color saturation is exceptional and cannot be rendered through pictures. The hand-pulled print is very hard to find both in almost perfect shape and signed. Although the print run is unknown, consensus is that it is very limited, making it one of Shepard Fairey's most iconic and sought-after pieces.
