Mon Cirque de Reve" is one of the most important oil paintings by famed Indian artist Sakti Burman (b. 1935). This exciting work encapsulates the very best of the artist's painterly style, developed over the past five decades of living in France and India. The joie de' vivre of "Mon Cirque de Reve" is nearly palatable, painted in lush greens, blues, and oranges. At center a smiling, beautiful, nude woman floats upside-down and is framed by a prancing horse and a bizarre harlequin figure. Almost no portion of the canvas is left without intricate detail, giving this work a feeling of a fantasy-world in full bloom. Burman's paintings are in top Private and Museum collections including the Tate Gallery, London; the Musee d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, France; the National Gallery of New Zealand, Auckland; and the National Gallery of Modern Art, India, amongst others.

Sakti Burman was born in Calcutta, India in 1935 had his first solo exhibition in 1954, and since then has exhibited widely across the world. Over the years, he has held prestigious Museum and gallery exhibitions and his works are in the permanent collections of the Tate Gallery, London; the Musee d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, France; the National Gallery of New Zealand, Auckland; Allahabad Museum, India; the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi.
