The artist makes covert references to the political process in the photocollaged images. This example is from the private collection of Mrs. Edward Kennedy.

Robert Rauschenberg is undoubtedly one of the most influential artists of the twentieth century. The artist was a prolific printmaker who pushed boundaries by experimenting with different printmaking media. Rauschenberg often referenced politics and current events in his art by borrowing images from newspapers. The National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. exhibited "LET THE WORLD IN" in 2008, a show wholly devoted to the artist's prints.
