Lot Details

During the early 1980s, Robert Mapplethorpe’s photographs began a shift toward a phase of refinement of subject and an emphasis on classical formal beauty. Striving for balance and perfection, this photograph is an excellent example of his work from this period, the statuesque male and female nudes for which Mapplethorpe is best known.

Measures 5 X 7 in (12.7 X 17.8 cm).
