Lot Details

Archival pigment print, 17 x 22 in. (43.2 x 55.9 cm), edition of 15.

Born in Los Angeles, California in 1949, photographer Richard Misrach has always been fascinated by the beautiful landscapes that surround him. However, his photography focuses more intently on human’s ability to transform and affect the landscapes that surround us rather than the naturalness of a place itself. His artwork is represented in more than fifty major museum collections including the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the National Gallery of Art in Washignton, D.C., and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. Recently, Misrach was awarded the 2008 Lucie Award for Outstanding Achievement in Fine Art Photography.
