Lot Details

"Studio XXX" (2011) is a rare large-scale oil painting by internationally acclaimed American Contemporary female artist Peri Schwartz. This painting belongs to her famed, decades-long "Studio" series based on breaking down the formal planes of the room in which she spends most of her creative time. "Studio XXX" sheds all literal references to her actual studio and the objects within, and intentionally pushes the limits of abstraction. Schwartz uses tonality and pattern, as well as the relationship between colors, to express physical space and light painting in her iconic palette of aquas and eggshell-blue, yellows, oranges, reds and charcoal black. This painting measures 48 x 38 inches, is unframed and in mint condition.

The works of Schwartz can be found at Gerald Peters Gallery, NY and Santa Fe, Page Bond Gallery, and others. Her work is held in the permanent Collection of top Museums world-wide including:
