Lot Details

Picasso's love of animals was well-known and his villa in the South of France housed numerous creatures. At one point, he found a wounded young owl and successfully raised it. Picasso's uncanny ability to breathe life into an inanimate object such as a jug, and transforming it into a young owl, further demonstrates the artist's exceptional abilities.

The piece is made of A.R. white earthenware clay with oxide decoration on white enamel, embellished with blue paint.
