Son of the famous Indian Modern artist MF Husain, Indian Contemporary artist Owais Husain (b. 1967) carries a new, more intense approach to painting, creating a vibrant crescendo of colors and gestural brushstrokes. Here, Husain paints his signature figures painted in brilliant prisms of color are defined by bold outlines. Husain is fascinated by the human figure, and paints his subjects with a focus on the nature/culture dialectic. This work measures 27 x 38 inches as unframed. Please note this work is professionally framed to larger dimensions and is in excellent condition.

The artist graduated with a BFA from Sir J.J. School of Art in 1990 and worked at Kanoria Centre for Visual Arts, Ahmedabad in 1991. Owais Husain has held several solo and group exhibitions in galleries around the world including, the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi, Tao Art Gallery in Mumbai, the National Gallery of Modern Art, Delhi, and many more. The artist currently lives and works in Mumbai, India.
