Olivia Parker, Roses, from the Lost Objects portfolio, 1980. Silver chloride contact print, split toned, image size is 9.63 x 7.63 inches (24.5 x 19.4 cm); sheet size is 14 x 11 inches (35.6 x 27.9 cm). Signed by the artist, titled, dated "1980/ Neg. 1980 / Print 1980" and annotated "#3" in ink in the bottom margin.

After graduating from Wellesley College in 1963 with a degree in Art History, Olivia Parker began her career as a painter. In 1970 she started experimenting with photography, learning about the medium as she went. Parker is known for her meticulously staged still-lives, which she constructs in her studio. Stylistically, Parker is influenced by traditional Dutch, Flemish and Spanish paintings from the 17th century.

Parker has participated in more than 100 solo exhibitions in the United States and abroad, and her work is housed in several private, corporate and museum collections.
